Hello, this is our first blog /tʃalɪn(d)ʒ/ to TEFL teachers, translators, and any other interested people. We’re issuing this in December, but really this is a blog post for 2015.
What’s it all about?
If you’re anything like me, you make a New Years’ resolution every year – and if you’re even more like me, you break it.
So, I’m setting myself up with a challenge to meet several professional development goals this coming year – and I’d like other people to join me in doing so. There’s no prize, or certificate, but there is some kind of satisfaction in sharing your objectives, and working with others to achieve them.
Amazingly, though with lots of help and collaboration, I actually achieved my professional development challenge this year (setting up this coop!) – so I have something to live up to in 2015.
Well, here you go – I challenge you to write a blog post outlining your goals and challenges for next year. Here are some guidelines to help you structure (of course, you’re free to interpret this differently):
- What do you want to achieve (and why)?
- How are you going to achieve it?
- Who is going to help you?
- When do you want to do it by – or over what period of time?
- How will you measure the results (if not a qualification)?
If you don’t have your own blog, feel free send it our way and we’ll publish the posts that meet the above criteria.
The deadline for this challenge is the end of January 2015 – so you have plenty of time to think about it. If you post, please let us know in the comments below, or tweet to us on @SLBCoop, and we’ll share your stuff.
I hope that sounds like an interesting idea, if so – good luck! (Now I have to get writing that post!).
George
