This is a big week for Serveis Lingüístics de Barcelona – after months of writing, translating and designing we can finally introduce our website to you – www.slb.coop — tada!
I won’t lie, we did crack open the cava.
We’d like to thank our designer, Crawford Tait – we think he’s done a cracking job. You can find his website here. New Now
It felt good finally having completed stage one, and having the English and Castilian versions online. But this is only the beginning. We are now in the process of translating and proofing the Catalan, and we hope to have that up and running very soon.
Of course, the website does what any business website does – it advertises our language services, translations and English classes to our potential clients, but there’s a lot more to it than that!
In the members’ area, our socios can access the growing SLB library, a project managed by our VP, Alan Ritchie. The library has teaching materials, translation memories, our online training and professional development, screencasts and documents. This is an area we will be developing further in the second stage of the website.
We also have the first version of our language service professional profiles – featuring two of our four new members – see if you can spot them! https://www.slb.coop/about-us/the-team/?lang=en
Currently, our clients can book teachers/translators from their profiles online, but we’ll soon have a much more interactive system (I’m keeping these plans under wraps for now though).
In the meantime, I’d like to leave you with a song from our supporters in Portugal.
Glorioso SLB
Thanks all,
George
