The model we chose for this was a Cooperative of Services – a cooperative designed for professionals who work for themselves but who need access to opportunities, professional development, materials and other key services. All this is done within a democratic framework in which all cooperative members, with a minimum investment, are given an equal vote and the opportunity to share profits.
With decades of combined experience delivering high quality English classes and professional and technical translations, we decided it was time to pool our resources and expertise to create a working environment in which we could pursue our professional objectives, be fairly paid and also give something back to the community.
